2021, a year of celebrations for the Brazilian Society of Pharmacognosy
 "A people without memory is a people without history”. This phrase was written by Emília Viotti da Costa (1928-2017), one of the greatest Brazilian historians, and expresses that without recording and analyzing historical events it is not possible to understand the present nor project the future.
 Thus, the main objective of this book is to record the historical facts of the Brazilian Society of Pharmacognosy (SBFgnosia), which until today were not organized, which made it impossible to have a broad view of its actions.
 This book did not have the main objective of answering these questions, but it provides support for future reflections in the area so that new paths can be built, new perspectives can be seen and the trajectory of the countless researchers and teachers who have come before us can be continued.
